IESA, as a key industry partner, has been entrusted with the organization of the Battery Tech Pavilion, Recycling Pavilion, and Charging Infra Pavilion under the umbrella of Bharat Battery Show. Bharat Battery Show will be part of the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025 and will be organized at the central Delhi venue Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, from 19th to 21st January 2025.
During the curtain raiser of the event Vimal Anand, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Commerce & Industry said, “Batteries are the cornerstones of the e-mobility transition, enabling efficient, sustainable, and reliable transportation solutions. By 2030, India will require 300 GWH of advanced batteries for e-mobility. As we accelerate towards a greener future, developing and deploying cutting-edge energy storage technologies is imperative.”
Many large Indian conglomerates and startups have not only started working on developing lithium-ion batteries but also futuristic technologies like solid-state batteries, sodium-based batteries, and metal-based batteries. The production Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme has been instrumental in nurturing our domestic supply chain ensuring that India meets its e-mobility aspirations and becomes a global leader in this domain. Under ACC PLI, India is developing 40 GWH and 100 GWH advanced battery manufacturing capacity beyond PLI.
By incentivising local manufacturing and innovation, the PLI scheme not only strengthens our capacity to produce high-quality batteries and electric vehicles but also instills a sense of optimism about India’s potential to lead the global e-mobility landscape, reducing dependence on imports and boosting economic growth. Under the PM E-drive scheme, the government has also allocated 2000 crores of Indian rupees for fast charging for system development and it will boost EV adoption in India, Anand added.
Debi Prasad Dash, President, IESA said, “We are thrilled to be an integral part of the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025, which is not just an event but a leading global platform that brings together the brightest minds and leading companies in the mobility sector. The Battery Tech, Recycling, and Charging Infra Pavilions under the Bharat Battery Show umbrella will be a testament to India’s advancements in these critical areas and our readiness to lead the global mobility revolution.”
The Bharat Battery Show (an expo on batteries and charging) will feature cutting-edge technologies in battery storage, battery recycling, and charging infrastructure, reflecting IESA’s commitment to driving the adoption of clean energy and sustainable mobility solutions in India. IESA is expecting 100+ global players from Germany, USA, Italy, Japan, Singapore, and China to to showcase their cutting-edge battery and charging infra technologies during this event.
Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025 lead by Ministry of Commerce and Industry is set to be held from 17th January to 22nd January 2025, across three major venues: Bharat Mandapam, Yashobhoomi (IICC) Dwarka, and India Expo Center & Mart, Greater Noida.
This expo, building on the resounding success of its 2024 edition, promises to be India’s largest and most comprehensive event dedicated to the global mobility sector, showcasing the latest advancements in mobility solutions, with a special focus on sustainable and innovative technologies like advanced batteries, battery manufacturing, battery components, recycling & circular economy, charging infra, battery swapping, etc.
The Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025 is expected to attract over 1500 exhibitors and 5,00,000 visitors from more than 50 countries. The event will also feature sectoral sessions, business forums, and startup showcases, providing ample opportunities for knowledge sharing, networking, and exploring new business opportunities.
