India’s digital economy is poised for unprecedented growth, with national data-centre capacity projected to rise from less than 2 GW today to an estimated 24-26 GW by 2036, a twelvefold increase. At the same time, India is targeting 800 GW of renewable energy capacity by 2035-36, underscoring the urgent need for solutions that can effectively manage and optimise this new energy landscape. As data centres become central to India’s ambitions as a global technology hub, the question is not just about adding capacity, but about powering these digital engines sustainably and intelligently.

To address the growing need for intelligent energy management supporting data centre power needs, Smartgrid Analytics is introducing Solvyn AURA at Renewable Energy India Expo 2026, a decision and revenue intelligence layer for renewable energy and battery storage assets. Solvyn AURA brings together generation forecasts, live operational data, battery operating limits, grid constraints and market signals to optimise scheduling, dispatch planning and market participation. It further supports the optimisation of renewable energy and storage assets used to meet data-centre power needs.

Data-centre energy requirements alone have soared from around 375 MW in 2020 to approximately 1,575 MW as of August 2026, with industry estimates pointing to several additional gigawatts by 2030. According to International Energy Agency analysis, the build-out of AI data centres is set to significantly increase demand for copper, aluminium, silicon, gallium, rare earth elements, and battery minerals, materials essential for both digital and clean energy transitions. Despite their rapid rise, data centres are expected to remain a manageable share of overall electricity demand. Solvyn AURA supports renewable generation and market-price forecasting, battery dispatch planning, intelligent bidding and coordination across multiple assets. Its optimisation considers battery state of charge and state of health, operating and warranty limits, and grid and market requirements to help improve asset revenue and reduce deviation-related penalty exposure.

Dr Kumar M, Founder and CEO of Smartgrid Analytics, said, “The next phase of growth demands not just more capacity, but intelligent systems that can turn complexity into opportunity. Solvyn AURA is built for this moment, helping operators make better decisions at the speed and scale the industry now requires. AURA’s decision intelligence is particularly vital for independent power producers, utilities, and operators managing portfolios that combine solar, wind, and battery storage. The platform enables these organisations to balance generation variability, storage limits, regulatory compliance, and commercial objectives. AURA forecasts, plans, and optimises operating schedules and commercial decisions, while integrated Energy Management Systems (EMS) and Power Plant Controllers (PPC) execute real-time asset control and grid responses. SGA is fully aligned with India’s vision of advancing intelligent energy infrastructure to meet the demands of a rapidly expanding digital landscape.”

As India’s digital economy grows, so does the importance of circularity and resource security. The world generated 62 million tonnes of e-waste in 2022, containing metals with an estimated value of USD 91 billion, yet only 22.3% was formally collected and recycled. India’s own National Critical Mineral Mission and a ₹1,500 crore incentive scheme for critical mineral recycling reflect the country’s commitment to extracting value from e-waste and supporting sustainable industrial growth. By coordinating renewable generation, storage schedules and market participation, Solvyn AURA helps plant owners and operators manage operational complexity and improve the commercial performance of their energy assets.”

This unveiling comes at a pivotal moment, as India’s digital and renewable ambitions converge and the need for intelligent, integrated solutions becomes more urgent than ever. Its official unveiling will give the industry a first look at technology developed to address the decisions plant owners and operators face every day.
