Himachal Pradesh Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla has commended the children’s short film Crossings for effectively raising awareness of climate change and environmental protection among young audiences.
The screening took place at Lok Bhavan in Shimla, where the governor highlighted the film’s strong educational value in explaining how human actions contribute to natural disasters and the need to conserve the environment for future generations.
Created by National Film Award-winning filmmaker Vivek Mohan, Crossings draws on real-life events to illustrate the impacts of global warming and underline the urgency of climate action. The film continues themes from Mohan’s earlier work to encourage environmental responsibility among children.
Governor Shukla noted that Himachal Pradesh’s natural beauty must be protected and preserved, especially by instilling eco-conscious values in the young. He said that creative initiatives such as Crossings play a meaningful role in spreading critical climate change awareness.
The governor’s praise reflects a growing emphasis on environmental education and climate awareness across India’s hill states, where communities are increasingly impacted by global warming and ecological change
