The veteran business leader also highlights the achievements of his group, Godrej Industries, in becoming water positive, solid waste positive, and making progress in carbon reduction. He emphasises the profitability of sustainable initiatives and urges other businesses to follow suit for both environmental and economic benefits.

He also discusses the use of green energy by the company, the challenges posed by the increasing reliance on solar and wind, and the potential of nuclear energy as a constant and green energy source.

Elaborating about the group’s Good and Green programme, a corporate social responsibility initiative that aligns with Michael Porter’s concept of shared value, Mr Godrej underscores the symbiotic relationship between industry and the environment, highlighting the benefits of sustainability for both.
