Sourav Ganguly rarely goes unnoticed when he takes on a new role. His name has long been associated with leadership on the cricket field, but these days, he is more concerned with India’s clean energy future than with sports. His partnership with JAKSON Group signals the start of what can be considered his second innings, which combines long-term impact, sustainability, and influence.

Talking to Sustainability Karma, Saurav Ganguly said, “Solar is everywhere. Stadiums are getting solar. When you look at Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, I think that’s the first cricket stadium in India which went solar. And there is a reason for it. It’s a huge cost saver for cricket stadiums because expenses for running cricket are exorbitantly high.”

He added, “I’ve seen both sides of it. I’ve been on the ground and I’ve been in the offices. So having seen both sides of it, I know how it runs. And the world will go solar. How much it goes, only time will say. But obviously the journey has begun. And this is about innovation and diversification. So I just said Jackson from generators to solar to renewable energy. You see where AI has happened. So where AI has taken. So it’s a (symbol) of progress. So it just keeps moving forward.”

Ganguly’s work with JAKSON Group coincides with a period when India’s capacity for renewable energy is growing quickly and solar power companies are influencing the next stage of the nation’s development. For Ganguly, the shift is about applying the leadership skills he acquired in cricket to a field that impacts millions of people rather than abandoning the sport.

Ganguly is increasingly being perceived as someone who can help connect a quickly expanding company with a wider audience—businesses, institutions, and regular consumers who are now more conscious of clean energy than ever before—rather than just as a public face.

The importance of the collaboration was elaborated by Sameer Gupta, Chairman, JAKSON Group, owing to Ganguly’s credibility, consistency, performance, it resonates with our companies core belief and will add coherence and lead to adoption of sustainable solutions across India and the world.

This collaboration is important particularly right now because India’s energy journey is at a turning point. The transition to renewable energy is now necessary for both environmental sustainability and economic stability. Due to its long-term cost-effectiveness and scalability, solar energy in particular has become one of the most promising solutions.

Ganguly’s participation adds something special to this situation: public trust. He is one of the few public figures who is respected by people of all ages and places. His presence aids in the simplification of a message that frequently sounds technical: clean energy is something that can help regular consumers, not just big businesses or government initiatives.

The partnership between JAKSON Group and the association delivers more than increased visibility for the company. The partnership lets the business tell its story during a time when competition for renewable energy solutions has reached new heights. The presence of Ganguly as a brand ambassador creates an impression of stability which shows customers that the company will continue to operate for many years. These two aspects of stability will help the company build trust with its customers because the business operates on long term relationships.

Sameer Gupta declared that the company intends to create energy projects which will serve as a blueprint for Indian energy production. The presence of Ganguly on our team will help us achieve our objective to bring solar energy into every home.

Ganguly’s current phase of life shows a strong purpose which drives his activities within sports. Most athletes fail to find new identities after retirement, but Ganguly has chosen a path that connects influence with impact. He wants to enter a new world which will show him how to make a positive impact on society. He uses public office to build his new career path instead of using public office to recreate his former work activities. The shift from his position as a team leader to his role as an environmental development advocate occurs because the time has arrived for this change.

JAKSON Group partners with India to build its renewable energy sector which will shape the country’s future energy system. The inclusion of Ganguly into the project transforms the announcement into a leadership story which shows how leaders need to adapt to societal changes. The scoreboard displays more than just runs because it shows how our actions create a bigger effect which will lead to a sustainable planet for future generations.
