The Solar Energy Corporation of India has strengthened its commitment to India’s clean energy transition by signing a Statement of Intent with GEAPP ServiceCo to accelerate renewable energy deployment.

SECI, a Navratna central public sector undertaking under the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, exchanged the agreement with GEAPP ServiceCo on 12 December 2025. The collaboration is aimed at enhancing cooperation in the renewable energy sector by scaling up clean energy solutions and enabling innovative approaches aligned with India’s national energy targets.

Under the partnership, SECI and GEAPP will work together to leverage technical expertise, strategic planning and international best practices to support the faster rollout of renewable energy projects across the country. The initiative is expected to play a role in advancing solar and other clean energy technologies, while strengthening project development and implementation frameworks.

In a separate development, SECI also signed a memorandum of understanding with Indraprastha Power Generation Company Limited and Pragati Power Corporation Limited on 9 December 2025. This agreement focuses on exploring and implementing renewable energy projects, particularly in and around the National Capital Region.

IPGCL, the electricity generation arm of the Government of Delhi, operates power plants and meets the capital’s electricity demand in collaboration with PPCL. The partnership with SECI is expected to support the integration of renewable energy into existing power infrastructure and promote cleaner power generation in the region.

Together, these agreements highlight SECI’s proactive approach to building strong domestic and international partnerships. By working with public utilities and global clean energy organisations, SECI aims to strengthen India’s renewable energy ecosystem, reduce carbon emissions and enhance long-term energy security while supporting innovation and sustainability in the power sector.
