The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) and ROADIS have carried out a large-scale bicycle distribution drive to support girls’ education and improve mobility across three Indian states. Nearly 100 bicycles were provided to deserving girl students in Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan and Gujarat through events held at project locations in Varanasi, Surat and Ajmer.

The initiative is designed to strengthen access to schooling by helping young girls overcome daily mobility challenges, ensuring uninterrupted education and promoting equal opportunities for holistic development. A total of 80 students from 10 schools were felicitated during the programme.

The latest event, organised in Varanasi on 9 December 2025, saw participation from senior officials of NHAI, including members of the administration and regional officers from Bihar and Uttar Pradesh. Their presence underscored the organisation’s focus on community-centred development along national highways and the need to create safer, more accessible mobility for young learners.

ROADIS highlighted that the initiative aligns with its commitment to developing quality infrastructure while uplifting communities around its operational areas. The company emphasised that access to safe mobility plays a crucial role in enabling educational aspirations and long-term growth for young girls.

The bicycle donation forms part of ROADIS’ wider Shikshaantra Plus programme, which operates across 10 schools in India. The programme supports holistic education through improved infrastructure, digital learning tools, better learning outcomes and expanded opportunities for students.
