Neuron Energy, one of India’s fast-growing EV battery manufacturers, has secured INR 31 crore in its Pre-Series B funding round, backed by Equanimity Ventures, the Rajiv Dadlani Group, the Thackersay Family Office, the Chona Family Office, and several other prominent family offices and HNI investors. The investment marks a major milestone in Neuron Energy’s scale-up strategy as India’s electric mobility sector continues to gather pace.
The fresh capital will support the company’s plan to expand its manufacturing capacity to 3 GWh and establish a fully automated, large-scale battery production facility for electric four-wheelers and buses at Chakan, Pune. The investment will also strengthen Neuron’s R&D capabilities, accelerate domestic growth, and enable wider international expansion, reinforcing its ability to supply high-performance EV batteries at scale.
Pratik Kamdar, CEO and Co-Founder of Neuron Energy, said the fundraise represents a pivotal step in the company’s mission to build world-class EV battery manufacturing in India. He noted that as the country’s EV adoption rapidly increases, Neuron is prioritising automation, reliability and performance to meet growing demand in India and overseas markets.
Neuron Energy operates on a low-CapEx, low-OpEx model, enabling strong operating leverage. The company has been growing profitably year-on-year and is on course to achieve INR 200 crore in revenue this financial year. Over the next few years, it aims to surpass INR 900 crore in sales, supported by strong profitability and rising demand across EV segments. With an emphasis on high-quality smart batteries and consistent service standards, Neuron has earned a strong reputation among OEMs.
Building on its expertise in smart battery management systems and innovation-led product development, the company is poised to strengthen these core capabilities further. The upcoming facility not only consolidates Neuron’s leadership in the two-wheeler EV battery market but also marks its strategic entry into heavier vehicle categories, supporting its vision to become a comprehensive EV battery solutions provider and contribute to India’s clean mobility transition.
Rajesh Sehgal of Equanimity Ventures said the investor group sees significant potential in Neuron Energy’s blend of innovation, quality and scalability. The company’s focus on automation and energy efficiency, he noted, aligns with the evolving needs of India’s EV industry.
Rajiv Dadlani added that Neuron’s commitment to delivering rigorously tested, safe-to-use lithium-ion smart batteries positions the company to set new benchmarks within the sector.
With this Pre-Series B round, Neuron Energy has now raised INR 80 crore to date, setting the foundation for rapid capacity expansion and deeper collaborations across the EV ecosystem.
