Indian women’s cricket team captain Harmanpreet Kaur on Sunday flagged off the 10th edition of the Vedanta Pink City Half Marathon in Jaipur, lending star power to the event’s core message: the ‘Run For Zero Hunger’ campaign. The annual marathon, now a signature sports event in the Rajasthan capital, drew thousands of participants across the 5 km, 10 km, and 21 km categories.

The event commenced from the NRI Square on Mahal Road, with Kaur and Priya Agarwal Hebbar, non-executive director of Vedanta Limited, jointly flagging off the run. Kaur also served as the international event ambassador for this year’s edition. Enthusiastic runners including youth, senior citizens, women, and professional athletes braved the morning chill to take part, reflecting the rising fitness culture in Jaipur.

Organisers highlighted that the marathon has, over the past decade, evolved into a major platform for promoting health, community engagement, and social responsibility. This year’s integrated ‘Run For Zero Hunger’ initiative aims to strengthen efforts to provide nutrition and food support to vulnerable communities.

Speaking at the flag-off, Harmanpreet Kaur praised the overwhelming participation and said such events not only motivate people to stay active but also unite citizens for a meaningful cause. The cricketer interacted with runners, capturing the spirited atmosphere by taking selfies with participants and sharing the moment on her social media.

The marathon route stretched along Mahal Road, drawing energetic crowds of Jaipurites, social workers, and fitness enthusiasts. The combination of athletic passion and social purpose ensured that the 10th Vedanta Pink City Half Marathon continued its legacy as one of the city’s most anticipated community sporting events.
