Reducing the amount of CO₂ emissions by 70% and costs by 20% has already won accolades. On the other hand, some newly developed start-ups are working hard on achieving functionalities to recycle graphite to power EVs. This demonstrates how recycling can strengthen and enable sustainable energy solutions to be more economical.

Researchers at the University of Edinburgh are employing bacteria to leach from former batteries and e-wastes rare metals like lithium, cobalt, and manganese.
