Union Minister for Finance and Corporate Affairs Nirmala Sitharaman took part in the G20 Joint Meeting of Finance, Climate and Environment and Foreign Affairs Ministers and Governors of Central Banks at the yearly meeting in Washington DC.

On social media platform X, Ministry of Finance posted, “ The Union Finance Minister called for global response and collaboration on #climatechange between developed and developing countries on the UNFCCC and the Paris Agreement, adhering to the principles of equity and common but differentiated responsibilities respective capacities.”

It added for the need to have an equilibrium between developmental priorities and climate action. The developing countries should be provided financial resources and technologies at a reasonable cost.
